Our People
Made by Mushroom Enthusiasts

We’re a family business growing honest mushrooms. We value kindness, continuity, and people relationships. Our humble team can do humongous things because each of us brings something to the table that makes the others stronger: Science, process, practices, relations, operations, distribution, and respect—and we know A LOT about mushrooms. Mushrooms are our passion, our paycheck, and our primary focus. The head mycologist and process engineers on our team have dedicated their lives to growing a better mushroom, and we’re happy to share the fruits (or rather fungi) of our labor with you.

Our Campus

A State-of-the-Art Urban Mushroom Farm in Eugene, OR
There’s nothing like a fresh slate for cultivating fresher mushrooms. When we set out to create Joe Mushroom, we could have retrofitted a dusty old warehouse as our base of operations and called it quits. Instead, we made a conscious decision to build a brand new lean production facility designed specifically for growing clean organic mushrooms.

You might call it an urban farm, but really it’s a full-on campus with buildings dedicated to growing, incubation, processing, packaging, operations, storage, and shipping. And to match with the pace and scale of your business, we’ve implemented vertical farming practices that utilize space and resources more efficiently than the average manufacturing facility.

 Preserving Oregon’s Natural Beauty
We have a deep respect for Oregon and its pristine natural landscapes. When we set out to build an urban mushroom farm in Eugene, we made a pledge to be good stewards of the land, while living as harmoniously as possible with its wildlife.

Only a quarter of the land that we purchased will ever be used for mushroom production. The rest may be “owned” by us, but in our eyes it belongs to native plant and animal species whose home we will preserve.
